So, being in America and all, I decided that the best way to know about a people is to know their politics. The best way to do that, believe it or not, is not Fox News or CNN (or even MSNBC), it’s the Constitution.
The problem, however, is that even for a legally trained person, constitutions are boring and hard to read. It is also difficult to find lean (horn-style) books on the constitutional text. My only hope was the internet. And, oh boy!, was the internet useful.
Education is expensive! Books are expensive! Time is Expensive. But, the internet is cheap! So, what if I told you that you can take a Constitutional Law class from an IV-League school (one of the best in the world, second to Harvard, of course) just for the cost of megabytes? Yes, you can!
The course it taught by Akhil Reed Amar, the Sterling Professor of Law and Political Science at Yale University. He has written extensively on the subject and the course tracks his book America’s Constitution – A Biography.
The multimedia lectures include interactive segments and are available for free on YouTube. The course is divided into 6 parts. You could binge on each part for 1h46 minutes or take each part in small 22minute increments.
