1. Harvard South Africa Fellowship Programme President Derek Bok established the Harvard South Africa Fellowship Program (HSAFP) in 1979 to address the needs of South Africans who were denied access to advanced education by the apartheid system. This program was established, and is still intended, for mid-career professionals educationally disadvantaged by past laws and resource allocations in South Africa. Under the current presidency of Drew Gilpin Faust, the HSAFP seeks to expand its reach to institutions and organizations across the country in a continued effort to draw the broadest possible range of candidates for the program. 2. Stanford South Africa Fellowship Programme The Stanford Africa MBA Fellowship Program pays for tuition and associated fees (approximately US $145,000) for citizens of African countries with financial need who wish to obtain an MBA at Stanford GSB. Stanford will award up to eight Stanford Africa MBA Fellowships annually. (Read more)

 


3. Mandela Rhodes Scholarship The Mandela Rhodes Foundation offers young Africans who exhibit academic prowess as well as broader leadership potential an educational opportunity unique on the continent. While pursuing their chosen post-graduate degree, each Scholar benefits from access to leadership development programmes, rooted in the principles underpinning the Foundation. (Read more)

 


4. The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) An international programme under which member governments offer scholarships and fellowships to citizens of other Commonwealth countries. The CSFP was established at the first Commonwealth education conference in 1959, and over 26,000 individuals have benefited. (Read more)

 


 

5. Houser Global Scholars and Arthur T Vanderbilt Scholarships (NYU) The Hauser Global Scholarship is the most prestigious honor awarded to exceptional LLM students. These merit scholarships provide full tuition and reasonable living expenses, such as rent, the cost of textbooks and other study materials. Covering the cost of tuition for the full-time master’s degree programs, the Vanderbilt Scholarship is awarded to a select group of extraordinarily talented LLM candidates who have demonstrated outstanding academic promise and/or achievement in their respective field(s) of interest.
